Pier 68

Pier 68

TEND landscape collaborated with Studio Bryan Hanes and their client, the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, on developing a stakeholder engagement plan to drive the design for a new civic space on Pier 68, which included stakeholder identification, interviews, and community meeting development and facilitation. The pier opens past the future extension to the Delaware River Trail, through a tree canopy threshold, revealing open views of the river and the city skyline. A distinctive cut penetrates the pier decking, allowing the tide ebb and flow of the river to be visible. The pier park serves as one of few publicly accessible and supported recreational fishing points along the Delaware River in Philadelphia.
